This adventure is a perfect blend of excitement, exploration, and relaxation, offering a deep connection with nature and a profound appreciation of Botswana’s incredible wildlife and landscapes. Your journey concludes in Gaborone, where you’ll depart with a heart full of memories and a desire to return to this wild and wonderful country.

Days 1-2:
Makgadikgadi Pans National Park and Nxai Pan

Your Botswana Expedition safari begins in Gaborone, the capital. From here, you’ll take a flight to the otherworldly landscapes of the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park and Nxai Pan. Over the next two days, you will explore the expansive salt flats of Makgadikgadi, where the horizon stretches endlessly, creating a surreal, almost lunar landscape. Here, you’ll witness the famous baobab trees, including the ancient Baines’ Baobabs, and if your visit coincides with the rainy season, you’ll be treated to the sight of migratory zebras and wildebeests. At Nxai Pan, you’ll encounter large herds of springbok, gemsbok, and possibly cheetahs stalking the plains. Sunset walks across the salt pans and quad biking excursions will add a thrilling edge to your experience. Nights are spent in a comfortable lodge, where you can gaze at the clear, star-filled sky.

Days 3-4:
Central Kalahari Game Reserve

Next, your journey takes you to the Central Kalahari Game Reserve, one of the largest and most remote reserves in the world. This vast wilderness is known for its unique desert-adapted wildlife and the striking contrast between its arid environment and the vibrant life it supports. Over the two days, you’ll embark on game drives to spot the iconic black-maned Kalahari lions, cheetahs, and the elusive brown hyena. The reserve’s diverse birdlife will delight birdwatchers, with sightings of raptors and migratory species. You will also have the opportunity to learn about the San people, the ancient inhabitants of the Kalahari, and their survival techniques in this challenging environment. Evenings will be spent around the campfire, enjoying the solitude and tranquility of the desert under the vast African sky.

Days 5-6:
Kwando and Linyanti

Your safari adventure continues as you head north to the pristine wetlands of Kwando and Linyanti, regions renowned for their rich biodiversity and stunning landscapes. The next two days will be filled with exhilarating game drives and boat safaris. In these remote, lesser-visited areas, you’ll have the chance to spot large elephant herds, buffalo, leopards, and the endangered African wild dogs. The floodplains, woodlands, and lagoons create a paradise for wildlife, and the abundance of predators here ensures exciting sightings. The boat safaris offer a unique perspective, allowing you to get close to hippos and crocodiles, while the evening game drives might reward you with sightings of nocturnal creatures like owls and civets. Your nights will be spent in a luxury tented camp, where you can relax and enjoy the sounds of the African wilderness.

Days 7-8:
Savuti Area

From Kwando and Linyanti, you’ll journey to the Savuti area in Chobe National Park, famous for its dramatic landscapes and high concentration of wildlife. The Savuti Channel, which unpredictably flows and dries up, creates a dynamic environment that attracts large numbers of elephants, lions, hyenas, and cheetahs. Over the next two days, you’ll explore this diverse ecosystem through game drives, where you’ll witness the interactions between predators and their prey. The Savuti Marsh, with its open plains, offers some of the best game viewing in Botswana, especially during the dry season when animals congregate around waterholes. Evenings will be spent in a comfortable lodge, where you can share stories of the day’s adventures while watching the sunset over the African bush.

Days 9-10:
Okavango Delta

The final leg of your journey takes you to the world-renowned Okavango Delta, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of Africa’s most unique ecosystems. This vast inland delta is a maze of channels, lagoons, and islands, teeming with wildlife. You’ll spend the last two days exploring the delta on traditional mokoro (dugout canoe) excursions, gliding silently through the water as you observe elephants, hippos, and a variety of bird species. Guided bush walks will allow you to experience the delta’s flora and fauna up close, and you’ll learn about the delicate balance of life in this watery paradise. The Okavango Delta offers a peaceful and serene end to your safari adventure, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in nature. On the final day, after a morning activity, you’ll return to Gaborone for your evening departure, taking with you unforgettable memories of Botswana’s wild beauty.
