Day 1-2:
Cape Cross Seal Reserve
Your Etosha Safari adventure begins in Windhoek, where you will be welcomed and briefed on your upcoming journey. Depart for Cape Cross Seal Reserve, located on the Skeleton Coast. Arrive at your accommodation and spend the rest of the day settling in. The following day, explore Cape Cross Seal Reserve, home to one of the largest colonies of Cape fur seals. Observe thousands of seals basking on the rocky shore and interact with the local wildlife. The dramatic coastline and the interaction of the seals provide a unique and fascinating experience. Return to your lodge in the evening to reflect on your day amidst the coastal beauty.
Day 3-4:
Okonjima Nature Reserve
On the third day, travel to Okonjima Nature Reserve, renowned for its commitment to conservation and wildlife research. Arrive at your lodge and enjoy an afternoon game drive, focusing on the reserve’s unique projects, such as tracking cheetahs and other predators. On the fourth day, take part in a full-day activity that includes guided nature walks, tracking safaris, and a visit to the Africat Foundation, which focuses on the rehabilitation and release of big cats. Learn about conservation efforts and observe these majestic animals in their natural habitat. Return to your lodge for dinner and a relaxing evening.
Day 5-6:
Namib Desert
On this day, journey to the Namib Desert, famous for its breathtaking sand dunes and striking landscapes. Arrive and settle into your lodge near Sossusvlei. Spend the afternoon exploring the area and preparing for the next day’s adventure. The following day, visit the iconic Big Daddy Dune, one of the tallest sand dunes in the Namib Desert, and climb to the top for panoramic views. Explore Deadvlei, with its ancient camel thorn trees and white clay pan, and take in the stark contrasts of the desert landscape. Conclude your exploration with a visit to Sesriem Canyon, a geological marvel formed by the Tsauchab River.
Day 7-8:
Kalahari Desert
On this day, travel to the Kalahari Desert, known for its vast red dunes and diverse wildlife. Arrive at your lodge and embark on an afternoon game drive. The Kalahari is home to unique wildlife adapted to its arid environment, including meerkats, springboks, and lions. On the eighth day, explore more of the Kalahari Desert. Participate in a cultural visit to a local San Bushmen community to learn about their traditional way of life. Enjoy a sunset drive over the dunes for stunning views and a memorable desert experience. Return to your lodge for a final night in the Kalahari.
Day 9-10:
Deadvlei
On the ninth day, return to the Namib Desert for a deeper exploration of Deadvlei. Revisit the striking white clay pan and its ancient trees, taking the opportunity to capture the stunning scenery in different lighting conditions. Explore the surrounding dunes and desert landscapes at a leisurely pace, allowing ample time for photography and reflection. On the tenth day, embark on a guided excursion through the Namib Desert, focusing on lesser-known areas and hidden gems. Experience the desert’s beauty and tranquility in a new light, and return to your lodge in the evening for a farewell dinner.
11-12:
Spitzkoppe
On the eleventh day, travel to Spitzkoppe, often referred to as the “Matterhorn of Namibia” due to its distinctive peaks. Arrive and explore the area, known for its dramatic granite formations and ancient rock art. Enjoy a guided tour of the rock art sites and take in the panoramic views from the peaks. On the twelfth day, enjoy a final morning exploring Spitzkoppe. Depending on your departure time, you may have time for a leisurely breakfast and a final stroll around the area. Return to Windhoek for your departure, reflecting on your safari adventure filled with diverse landscapes, wildlife encounters, and unique experiences.
