Days 1:
Bwabwata National Park
Your 7-day Skeleton coast Safari begins in Windhoek, the capital of Namibia. After a warm welcome and briefing, you will embark on a journey to Bwabwata National Park, located in the northeastern part of the country. Upon arrival, settle into your lodge and prepare for an afternoon safari. Bwabwata, known for its diverse ecosystems and abundant wildlife, offers opportunities to see elephants, buffalo, and a variety of antelope species. The park’s unique mix of riverine forests and floodplains creates a haven for wildlife. Enjoy dinner at your lodge and relax, taking in the serene environment.
Day 2-3:
Kalahari Desert
On the second day, travel to the Kalahari Desert, a vast semi-arid region characterized by its red sand dunes and sparse vegetation. The first day in the Kalahari involves exploring the desert’s unique landscapes and wildlife. The desert is home to species such as the meerkat and the elusive black-maned lion. Participate in a guided game drive to experience the arid beauty of the region and observe the wildlife that has adapted to this harsh environment. On the third day, continue your exploration of the Kalahari Desert with activities such as a visit to local San Bushmen communities to learn about their traditional way of life and survival skills in the desert. Day 4-5:
Namib Desert
Depart the Kalahari Desert for the Namib Desert, one of the oldest and most iconic deserts in the world. On the fourth day, arrive and settle into your lodge amidst the dramatic sand dunes. Spend the afternoon exploring the towering dunes of Sossusvlei and Deadvlei, famous for their striking orange and red hues. Climb the dunes to take in breathtaking views of the expansive desert and the surrounding landscape. On the fifth day, venture into the Namib Desert’s unique landscapes, including the Sesriem Canyon, carved by the Tsauchab River. On the seventh day, enjoy a final morning exploring the Skeleton Coast before beginning your journey back to Windhoek.
