Itinerary

Days 1:
Bwabwata National Park

Your 7-day Skeleton coast Safari begins in Windhoek, the capital of Namibia. After a warm welcome and briefing, you will embark on a journey to Bwabwata National Park, located in the northeastern part of the country. Upon arrival, settle into your lodge and prepare for an afternoon safari. Bwabwata, known for its diverse ecosystems and abundant wildlife, offers opportunities to see elephants, buffalo, and a variety of antelope species. The park’s unique mix of riverine forests and floodplains creates a haven for wildlife. Enjoy dinner at your lodge and relax, taking in the serene environment.

Day 2-3:
Kalahari Desert

On the second day, travel to the Kalahari Desert, a vast semi-arid region characterized by its red sand dunes and sparse vegetation. The first day in the Kalahari involves exploring the desert’s unique landscapes and wildlife. The desert is home to species such as the meerkat and the elusive black-maned lion. Participate in a guided game drive to experience the arid beauty of the region and observe the wildlife that has adapted to this harsh environment. On the third day, continue your exploration of the Kalahari Desert with activities such as a visit to local San Bushmen communities to learn about their traditional way of life and survival skills in the desert. Enjoy a scenic sunset over the dunes, providing stunning views and excellent photo opportunities. Return to your accommodation for a restful evening and a chance to reflect on the desert’s vastness and beauty.

Day 4-5:
Namib Desert

Depart the Kalahari Desert for the Namib Desert, one of the oldest and most iconic deserts in the world. On the fourth day, arrive and settle into your lodge amidst the dramatic sand dunes. Spend the afternoon exploring the towering dunes of Sossusvlei and Deadvlei, famous for their striking orange and red hues. Climb the dunes to take in breathtaking views of the expansive desert and the surrounding landscape. On the fifth day, venture into the Namib Desert’s unique landscapes, including the Sesriem Canyon, carved by the Tsauchab River. The canyon’s towering cliffs and rock formations create a dramatic contrast to the surrounding desert. In the afternoon, explore the eerie and picturesque Deadvlei, where ancient camel thorn trees stand in stark contrast to the white clay pan. Return to your lodge for an evening of relaxation and dinner, enjoying the tranquility of the desert under the stars.

Day 6-7:
Skeleton Coast

Travel from the Namib Desert to the Skeleton Coast, a remote and rugged coastline known for its dramatic landscapes and shipwrecks. Arrive and settle into your accommodation, then embark on an afternoon exploration of the coastline. The Skeleton Coast, with its misty shores and eerie shipwrecks, offers a unique and haunting beauty. Take a scenic drive along the coast to view the famous shipwrecks and the stark contrast between the desert and the Atlantic Ocean. On the seventh day, enjoy a final morning exploring the Skeleton Coast before beginning your journey back to Windhoek.
