Day 1-2:
Okaukuejo, Etosha National Park
Your safari adventure begins in Windhoek, where you will be welcomed and briefed on your upcoming journey. Early on the first day, depart for Okaukuejo in Etosha National Park, renowned for its incredible wildlife and expansive salt pans. Upon arrival, check into your accommodation and enjoy an afternoon game drive. Etosha’s diverse landscapes and waterholes attract a wide range of wildlife, including elephants, lions, and rhinos. On the second day, set out on a full-day game drive through Etosha National Park. Visit several of the park’s major waterholes, each offering unique wildlife viewing opportunities. The salt pans provide a stunning backdrop as you observe herds of animals, from zebras and springboks to the rare black rhino. Return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and a chance to reflect on your day’s sightings.
Day 3-4:
Big Daddy Dune, Namib Desert
On the third day, journey to the Namib Desert, home to some of the world’s most iconic sand dunes. Arrive at your lodge near Sossusvlei and settle in. In the afternoon, explore Big Daddy Dune, one of the tallest sand dunes in the Namib Desert. Climb to the top for panoramic views of the striking desert landscape and the surrounding dunes. The fourth day is dedicated to further exploration of the Namib Desert. Visit Deadvlei, known for its white clay pan and ancient camel thorn trees that create a surreal and picturesque scene. Explore the Sesriem Canyon, a geological wonder carved by the Tsauchab River. The stark beauty of the canyon’s rock formations contrasts vividly with the desert’s sand dunes. Day 5-6:
Skeleton Coast
On the fifth day, travel to the Skeleton Coast, famous for its dramatic coastline and shipwrecks. Arrive and settle into your accommodation, then embark on an afternoon excursion along the coast. The Skeleton Coast’s misty shores and eerie shipwrecks create a hauntingly beautiful landscape. Take a scenic drive to view the shipwrecks and the rugged coastline, where the desert meets the Atlantic Ocean. On the sixth day, continue exploring the Skeleton Coast. Visit Cape Cross Seal Reserve to see a large colony of Cape fur seals and witness their playful interactions. Day 7-8:
Kalahari Desert
On the seventh day, head to the Kalahari Desert, a vast semi-arid region with striking red dunes and unique wildlife. Arrive at your lodge and embark on an afternoon game drive to experience the desert’s serene landscapes and observe wildlife adapted to this harsh environment. The Kalahari is home to species such as meerkats, springboks, and the elusive black-maned lion. On the eighth day, continue your exploration of the Kalahari Desert. Engage in activities such as a visit to local San Bushmen communities to learn about their traditional way of life and survival skills. Enjoy a scenic sunset drive over the dunes, providing stunning views of the desert landscape. Return to your lodge for a final night in the Kalahari.
Day 9:
Return to Windhoek
On the ninth day, begin your journey back to Windhoek. Arrive in the capital in the afternoon and check into your accommodation. Use the remainder of the day to relax, shop for souvenirs, or explore any remaining sights in Windhoek. Enjoy a farewell dinner in the city as you reflect on the diverse landscapes and experiences of your safari adventure.
Day 10:
Departure
On the final day, prepare for your departure. Depending on your flight schedule, you may have time for a final leisurely breakfast or a last stroll around Windhoek. Transfer to the airport for your flight home, taking with you memories of Namibia’s breathtaking landscapes, from the wildlife-rich plains of Etosha to the towering dunes of the Namib Desert and the rugged beauty of the Skeleton Coast.
