overview

Days 1:
Windhoek
Explore Epupa Falls to Cape Cross starting at Windhoek, the vibrant capital of Namibia. Spend the day exploring this lively city, starting with a visit to the Christuskirche, a striking German Lutheran church that stands as a symbol of the city’s colonial history. Continue to the Tintenpalast, Namibia’s parliament building, and take a leisurely stroll through the Parliament Gardens, which offer a peaceful retreat in the heart of the city. In the afternoon, explore the bustling craft markets where you can purchase traditional Namibian crafts and souvenirs. Wrap up your day with a visit to the Independence Memorial Museum, which offers panoramic views of the city and insights into Namibia’s journey to independence. Enjoy a traditional Namibian dinner at a local restaurant before retiring for the night.
Day 2:
Epupa Falls
Leave Windhoek early for a scenic flight or drive to Epupa Falls, located on the Kunene River in the far north of Namibia. Upon arrival, you’ll be struck by the natural beauty of the area, where the river cascades over a series of waterfalls, creating a breathtaking spectacle. Spend the day exploring the area, taking guided walks along the riverbanks, and learning about the Himba people, one of Namibia’s most traditional ethnic groups. The evening offers an opportunity to enjoy the tranquility of the area as the sun sets over the falls. Your night will be spent in a lodge or campsite nearby, immersed in the sounds of the African wilderness.
Day 3:
Epupa Falls Exploration
On your second day at Epupa Falls, take a more in-depth exploration of the surrounding area. Start the morning with a visit to a Himba village, where you’ll have the unique opportunity to learn about their customs, lifestyle, and traditional practices. This cultural immersion offers a rare glimpse into one of the most ancient cultures still thriving in Africa today. In the afternoon, take a guided hike to the top of the falls for a different perspective of the cascading waters and the lush greenery that contrasts starkly with the arid landscape. In the evening, relax by the campfire under a star-studded sky, reflecting on the day’s cultural and natural wonders.
Day 4:
Cape Cross Seal Reserve
After breakfast, embark on a journey to the coastal region of Namibia, where you’ll visit the Cape Cross Seal Reserve, home to one of the largest colonies of Cape fur seals in the world. As you approach the reserve, the sheer number of seals, often numbering in the tens of thousands, is awe-inspiring. Spend the day observing these fascinating marine mammals as they bask on the rocky shoreline, dive into the Atlantic waters, and interact with one another. The reserve also has a historical significance, as it marks the site where the first European, Portuguese explorer Diego Cão, set foot on Namibian soil in 1486. Explore the reserve at your own pace before heading to your nearby accommodation for the night.
Day 5:
Cape Cross Seal Reserve & Departure
On your final day, take a leisurely morning stroll along the beach, soaking in the peaceful atmosphere of the Atlantic coast and watching the seals as they start their day. After breakfast, pack your belongings and prepare for your journey back to Windhoek. Depending on your mode of travel, you’ll either take a scenic drive through Namibia’s ever-changing landscapes or catch a flight back to the capital. Upon arrival in Windhoek, you’ll be transferred to the airport for your departure, marking the end of your Namibian safari adventure.
